internalised lesbophobia got me looking shifty and uncomfortable whenever other women change in front of me because I’m like “do I have the male gaze?? should I leave???” and the women are like “oh it’s just us girls so it doesn’t matter” but I feel really disconnected from that kinda feeling because of my lesbianism???
NO THIS IS TOTALLY A THING! When I try to explain it to my friends, I call it “Locker Room Syndrome” because I never got over the fear of girls thinking I was checking them out while they were changing.
And it goes beyond that. It’s also the fear that sometimes bubbles back up that my straight friends will think I’m into them when I’m being friendly or when I hug them. Internalized lesbophobia can really fuck you up.
